How to Win a Romero Award, by Dennis Conrad
Named after casino marketing pioneer and author John Romero, the Romero Awards honor those gaming operators who best fulfill the spirit of John’s more than 45-year crusade for effective, measurable and accountable casino marketing expenditures.
Each year, a panel of expert judges, chaired by John Romero himself, selects winners for their excellence in casino marketing, in a variety of important marketing categories.

Casino Categories
- Small- to mid-size casinos and gaming facilities (less than 1,000 total gaming positions)
- Larger casinos (1,000 or more total gaming positions)
Marketing Categories
- Direct Mail Marketing (Single or Campaign)

- VIP Promotion (for top-rated players)
- E-mail Marketing
- Web Site Marketing
Entry Limitations
Casino organizations may submit up to three (3) Romero nominations in any single casino marketing category.
